What's in a name?

I just read an article today on marketing.  For instance: what do you think of when you hear the name JetBlue versus United Airlines.  Your first impression of JetBlue is probably exciting with no limits, where as United Airlines probably instills a sense of security and experience.

So here's a discussion for you.  All feelings aside, what is your first impression of the name "Kristy Music Studios?"

Quote for today :)

Some were made to be teachers, others performers, still others music consumers. If every student became a performer, there would be no one left to teach the next performers.

Christmas Music

I used to get worked up over people who would put up their Christmas tree before Thanksgiving (or my birthday) was over! ;)  It's funny that NOW, being a music teacher, I have the unfortunate dilemma of starting my kids with Christmas music before I enjoy my Dale's-injected fried turkey!  ;)

But yes, we are starting Christmas music.  Some kids are already taking off with this!  I have a few that want to play "every song in the book" (of which I am soooo excited)!  Our performance class is on December 10th, so make sure your children are practicing their songs as we only have 2-3 lessons left!

Pianorama-

10 pianos and 20 pianists playing together.  TONS of parents, kids, teachers, and siblings filled up the Center for Creative Arts in Chattanooga to "Celebrate America."  Just a taste of some American folk tunes and patriotic classics that were played: Dixie, Skip to My Lou, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, The Entertainer, The Star Spangled Banner, and God bless America.  Kids from age 5 to adults 60+ performed onstage for a nearly 200 or 300 audience.

Special congratulations to my student Jarrod for taking on the challenge of performing with a director, AND 19 other pianists--NOT an easy thing to do as a pianist at the age of 9!  Great job!
